Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
“In high school, anatomy was my favorite class. I not only took the class but also acted as a teacher's assistant for the following year. This is when I knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. My anatomy instructor had mentioned that he originally was in dental school and dropped out and that it was one of his biggest regrets. He continually expressed that he thought it would be a great career for me based on my interests and my outgoing personality. Once this was mentioned to my mom, it was essentially decided! My mom has always been my number one supporter, and her confidence in me helped push me to work hard and get into dental school.”—Dr. Alexa Weisgerber
